This poster is designed for the Louise Bourgeois exhibit that was at the PSU Jordan Schnitzer Museum in the fall of 2021. Since the museum had not released a formal poster for the event, I saw an opportunity to create my own. When developing the poster, I focused on the emotive qualities found in Bourgeois' illustrations & prints. The final output resulted from ruminating on her quote, "Art is a guarantee of sanity," with focus being on the word "sanity." This quote influenced the decision to use scratchy mark making, warm colors, and loose hand drawn text.
